Malcolm Mooney is an artist, poet, and musician. The original vocalist with the seminal late-1960s German rock band CAN, Mooney appears on the seminal albums Monster Movie and Soundtracks. Bandmate Holger Czukay noted, "CAN wasn't sure which way to go musically until Malcolm Mooney jumped up to the microphone one day and pushed us into a rhythm." This rhythmic legacy can be traced through virtually all subsequent developments in contemporary music (and beyond), from the post-punk experimentation of the late 1970s through today's post-disco scenes. Mooney left the CAN in 1970, returning to the United States to focus on his own artistic development.

The Sound of White Columns is proud to present a new three track 12" EP by Malcolm Mooney, performing two of his own compositions and a new version of his and CAN's classic "She Brings The Rain." Featuring keyboards by Alex Marcelo and percussion by Luis Tovar, the EP is released in a edition of 500 copies with letter-press artwork by Will Work for Good incorporating a drawing by Malcolm Mooney.
